Xia Gong study the "Romance of Three Kingdoms" for a life, and published many papers, but nothing new, nothing done. It turns older and older, and he suddenly thought: What feather is Zhuge Liang’s fan made of? why not study it?
Xia Gong Let's get the job done, and find many books to study Zhuge Liang’s fan. Two months later, he made an eloquent words on paper, entitled "the material of Zhuge Liang fan". Through the check with much citation, Xia Gong got the result that Zhuge Liang’s fan is made of goose feather.
Xia Gong’s paper caused a sensation in the academic community: some  agree ,some disagree. Everybody published articles, or support or refute. A scholars called Zhao Da not only against Xia Gong perspective, but also proved that Zhuge Liang’s fan is made of duck feather with citation. Zhao Da got another party called Duck Feather Party debating with the Goose Feater Party led by Xiao Gong and lasting for a long time but no result.
When Duck Feather Party fighting with Goose Feather Party, their inner problems appeared. Goose Feather Party departs to Swan Feather Party and Fowl Goose Feather Party; and Duck Feather Party departs to Wild Duck Feather Party and Fowl Duck Feather Party. These parties argued and fight each other. Hundreds of papers are published annually. Many people become academics in the battle and published monograph and were authorized the title of professor.
Years later, relevant department convened scholars of two parts. Leaders said that the task of this seminar is to let the long debate come to an end. On the meeting, Xia Gong and Zhao Da shaked hands, the two parties reached a consensus: There are total 16 feather in Zhuge Liang’s fan with 8 goose feather and 8 duck feather, 4 swan feather and 4 fowl goose feather in that 8 goose feather, and 4 wild duck feather and 4 fowl duck feather in that 8 duck feather. The poliemics troubled academic for years finally has a happy ending.
After the debate, scholars are very lonely. It’s hard to write essays and publish monograph without polemics, which is very harmful to assess titles. So they all want to whip up academic debate.
Qian Xin, one of the students of Xia Gong followed the teach for many years, And fans and feather but no other things in his mind. One day, Qianxin  thought: Isn’t there two cuts of Zhuge Liang's fan? Well, the teach only discussed one cut and the fan handle isn’t mentioned. Why I not discuss the fan handle?
Qianxin is much faster study than his teacher. Two days later, he wrote an article, entitled "The handle of Zhuge Liang’s fan  is made of wood". It has response quickly after the publishing of paper. Sunchou, the student of Zhao Da wrote articles to argue that the handle of Zhuge Liang’s is not made of wood but bamboo. The scholars who were lonely for a long time, some support Qian Xin and formed Wood party, but some support Sun Chou and formed Bamboo party.
